wed., 14 sept., 2022: cuba meets yuma: give us This Day our Daily Curse

[NOTE: these terms are weaponized language, & meant to give offense. Which is the whole & compleat & total & entire point of insult & invective, obscenity & blasphemy, & other political speech.]

CUBAN SPANISH:  ¡Hola Yuma!

CUBAN SPANISH:  ¡La Yuma!

‡)   “Howdy, Yuma!... NOTE:  Yuma” is a term used by Cubans for Yanquis. Apparently they really loved 3:10 to Yuma, the 1957 Western starring Glenn Ford & Van Heflin, & directed by Delmer Davis.  This term can be affectionate, if the Yanqui in question is cool & copaceptic, but can be insulting if the Yanqui is an arsehole. Most Yanks who go to Cuba aren’t arseholes. But there are a few.

‡‡)   “The Yuma!... NOTE:  The Yuma” is an ambivalent Cuban term for los Estados Unidos. See note above about 3:10 to Yuma.  They usually love Americans, but can be a bit more tetschy about our govt. & the ongoing continual sabre rattling & boycott & other historic upleasantries. After 60 yrs., you too would be an ambivalent Cubans, no matter how you felt about los Hermanos Castro.
