SPANISH: ¿Dónde esta
el telo? ‡
‡ ) “Where’s the [nearest Love] Hotel?”...
NOTE: “Telo” — in Argentina’s equivalent to the French street argot
called Verlan — refers to Buenos Aires’ version of Japanese love hotels, w/ rooms rented by the hour for morning
or noon or afternoon delight ; Argentina,
as Japan, has a premium on living space...
& w/ 20-somethings often still living w/ their parents,
a “Telo” is preferable to the back seat of
a car.
