‡)  “Egoistic” — any sort of mp3 player or walkman or protable CD player with headphones or earbuds that allows the listener to float free & ignore their environs,  whether oncoming vehicles or bicycles or motorcycles,  or petitioners or panhandlers or some lost tourist asking for directions.
