mon., 12 mar., & tues., 13 mar., 2012, not @ all an ideal greek citizen: give us This Day our Daily Curse

GREEK:   ίδιώτης  —  idiōtēs  §

§ )   In classical Greek,
ίδιώτης  —  idiōtēs = person who lacks any craftsman’s or professional’s skill-sets; a selfish private citizen, dishonorable, incapable of basic reasoning, & uninterested in affairs of state; in Athenian society a person was born an idiot & made a citizen through education; an idiot would even decline to serve on a council for the democratic govt. of the city state [πολις — polis] when their name was drawn in the lottery...it was estimated that 1/4th. of eligible Athenian citizens served on the council. Any person who declined was deemed a selfish pseudo-Libertarian Objectivist bullshitter & Ayn Rand groupie & was calledίδιώτης  —  idiōtēs”...  Contemporary meanings of the word “Idiot”: dolt, dullard, fuckwit, mentally deficient, a bottle short of a six-pack, & so forth, & etc. Any questions?
